Celebration card and 3D gift

Happy New Year Eve,

WOW, it's here the end of another year, leaving many wonderful memories and yet another farewell for me. Sadly today is my last post as a DT with Fussy & Fancy Challenges.  It's been a fun filled year of great challenges and new friendships with the gals on the team and the players.  The new design team begins their journey today and I wish them much happiness in their adventures as a Fussy & Fancy Gal.

This is also a very special day for Fussy & Fancy as today's challenge we are celebrating the 1 year anniversary for Fussy & Fancy Challenge blog And what a Celebration it is going to be as their are loads of prizes being offered up by many of the sponsors who has sponsor the challenges through out the year.  So this is one challenge you really don't want to miss. You can see all the different prizes to win on the challenge blog here

Our theme for the last challenge of 2010 is

"Celebration card with a 3D gift item"

For my project I found this fabulous tutorial for a diaper fold card that Marianne from Stamp Artic posted on her blog and just had to give it a try. I also altered a mini gable box for the gift box.

Here you can see how I altered the mini gable box using a Magnolia image, DP, MS heart punch. leaf punch and ribbon

Here is my diaper fold card

Decorated belly band

Card with out the belly band

Card inside, I didn't add any sentiment as of yet, but as you can see it is
a nice size 5.5x5.5 inside which would allow for a nice size sentiment or poem

Now head on over to the challenge blog to see the new design teams beautiful inspirations and give them a warm welcome and of course check out all the great prizes you could win if you play along with us. The challenge is a two week challenge so you have plenty of time to get all inked up and create a Celebration card and 3D gift.

Girls I wish you the best in the coming year, and I will be back to play as often as I can!!
Wishing everyone a Happy New Year!

Hugs
Jackie

Fussy and Fancy Challenge

Fussy and Fancy Challenge has a new challenge that begins today and the theme is snow.
Which is just what we have received this week here in KY, most recent as yesterday we received 4 more inches. It really is a pretty sight to look outside the back window to see everything covered in white. The kids are having a blast with school closing two days this week, being out in it playing, sled riding, snowball fights and the chore of shoveling the walkway and drive way so we can get out and about.
Needless to say my washer and dryer has been well used this week with having the grandsons.

So my card is very appropriate for the weather outside, it's been a while since I went ice skating (probably since my grown children where little) but I can tell you I never felt or looked as graceful as this sweet snow girl.

Image - Just Inklined Snowman Ice Skating
Papers - PTI Spring Rain
Sentiment - SU
Ribbon - stash
MS Snowflake punch
Doodlebug - Glitter candy dot
SU Dazzling Diamonds glitter
Stickles - Pink, Stardust, Crystal

Be sure to stop over to the Fussy and Fancy challenge blog for more stunning inspiration from the design team.
Thanks for visiting, have a fun filled weekend.

Christmas without Red and Green

TGIF .....

Fussy and Fancy's Friday Challenge is Christmas with out using red or green.  I love to make Christmas cards using non-traditional colors and this challenge is one that gives you a chance to try making a card with your pinks, blues or even black.

I used Xmas Shopping from Kenny K downloads, design paper is a older DCWV Christmas pack, lots of glitter and stickles for that bling on her shopping bags, sparkle fluff for her hat and cuffs on jacket and boots. My card works for Kenny K's challenge #19 for this week as they want to see sparkle and spots
Be sure to swing over to Fussy & Fancy's challenge blog to see all the wonderful creations the design team is sharing and join us this week for a chance to win a fabulous prize from StampInsantiy.

It's a Sketch Challenge at Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge

Hello and TGIF!!!

It's been a wild fun filled week for me and I hope you're week is ending on a happy note.

Our fabulous Mindy has created a fun sketch for our challenge this week and I know you are going to love creating a card or project with it.

Doesn't that look like fun? Well I did have fun creating my card for this challenge as I was able to use a brand new digital image from a New Company called StampFairy, swing on over to their blog as today is their first release and Gerda the owner is starting off in blog land with some cute and whimsical images, as well as giving away a gift to all visitors this week.

This is one of StampFairy's new images, is she not just too Cute? Using Mindy's sketch I created my card with Basic Grey Olivia design paper, PTI card stock Hawaiian Shores and SU Pretty In Pink, flowers are by Prima, leaf is MS punch, Pretty in Pink ribbon is from SU as is the sentiment from Cold Play set, glitter buttons are Pebbles. This little darling is colored in Copic and I used a little dab of Star Dust Stickles on the snowman body.

Be sure to swing over to Fussy & Fancy Friday Challenge to be inspired by all the wonderful creations the design team is sharing with you. They would love to hear from you, so please leave them a comment. We would love for you to join us this week, be sure to link your card to the blog so we can come visit.

Just want to remind you to take a minute and visit StampFairy for their new release and to pick up a special gift for visiting.

Winter Wonderland in Pinks and Browns

TGIF,

Whew it's been one of those weeks where I feel like I have been chasing my tail and never ever really catching it.
Today is just as crazy as I am making cookies for the grand kids for tonight and trying to get things ready for when they all arrive. We have a crafty night planned, as the boys are going to be down in my craft room making some fun Halloween projects to give to their teachers and friends. So that meant I had to kid proof my craft room the best I could and get a table set up and ready for the five of them. But it will be lots of fun for all of us, as they do enjoy doing things like this with me.

OK on to today's card and new challenge at Fussy & Fancy challenge blog. Fabulous projects everyone shared from from our last challenge, be sure to watch for the winners to be announced.
This week (reminder our challenges run for a two week time frame) we are getting ourselves geared up for the winter months ahead and we want to see some of your wonderful Winter Wonderland creations.

I have been collecting Magnolia card kits, as I joined a few card kit swaps on SCS and Yahoo Groups so I rummaged through my collection, looking for a kit that would work with our challenge theme and discovered this image and designer paper kit that was put together by Kathy Curry. I used the current sketch from Just Magnolia challenge #77 for my layout tweaking it a tad with using a oval nesties instead of a circle. My base is PTI chocolate, then layered with SU Pretty in Pink, I colored her up with Copics and added fun flock for the fur on her coat and hat, Paisley folder with the SU Pretty In Pink card stock. Flowers are from Prima, MS leaf  and sentiment punch, Velvet ribbon from my ribbon drawer, Crystal snowflakes found in my collection and then finished with sentiment from a TGF set.
Stop on over to the Fussy and Fancy challenge blog as the design team has some amazing creations to help get you inspired. Hope you join us this week

Happy Friday Blog land,

So glad to see this week come to an end, and so looking forward to a nice weekend. Our weather is suppose to be back up in the 80's, guess Mother Nature can't decide if she wants to see fall or still wants to cling to the Indian Summer days. LOL!! Fussy and Fancy Challenge #20

TGIF!!!  Did this week go by fast for you? I had to stop and think is it really Friday already! I have had a busy week so since I was behind on a lot of things I wasn't thinking about what was the day but all the things I still need to get done.....

It's also been two weeks since our last challenge began at Fussy and Fancy challenge blog and WOW, did we get a large among of participants for our last challenge of Christmas Colors. I had fun hopping from blog to blog looking at all of the beautiful creations everyone made. Lots of inspiration and a great fix to kick the mojo back into action. I apologize that I couldn't make it to every one's blog to see your lovely creation, but with 216 entries the DT had to split up the commenting so we could enjoy your blogs and leave you some love on your creation. Thank you to everyone that joined in our challenge, I am so glad I am not the one that has to pick the winner, talk about one hard decision so I will gladly leave that to the owners. :)

This week we have a fabulous sketch from Mindy for you to follow, now you can flip it or rotate it but we need to see the main focal point on your cards. We have a super fabulous sponsor for this challenge Bunny Zoe Craft's, who has a fabulous prize for our winner.

I used an image of  Romantic Tilda from the 2010 Wedding Collection that  I recently received with a card that was sent to me. I coloured her with Copic R32 Peach and added Stardust Stickles to the edge of her dress and hat lace, shoes and Fruit Punch to flowers on her hat. The beautiful design paper is from K&Company Portabella Road, Flowers are Primas and Pearls are Queen &Co. Ribbon, Ribbon is from Michael's Dashes,Dots and Checks, sentiment is a freebie from Ginger's House.

Now you will want to swing on over to Fussy & Fancy Challenge blog, you have to see all the fabulous creations the design team has created using this fabulous sketch from our own Mindy.

Thanks for visiting, I would love to hear your thoughts on my card, I want to send this to a friend to bring a bit of sunshine to her day.

Hope you have a wonderful Friday and weekend.

Fussy and Fancy Challenge - Christmas Colors

Happy Friday - can I hear a Whoop Whoop!!!

I am so glad today is Friday and this week will soon be over!! It has been one of those weeks, where if it could go wrong it did. First I totally forgot to post on Monday for one of my design teams (can I blame it on the blonde hair?) then blogger decides it doesn't want to post my scheduled post on Tuesday and I realized it almost at the end of the day, then yesterday as I am getting ready to take some pictures of 5 cards I made  I hit a cup of coffee (mine of course) that of course went all over and ruined all 5 cards!!!! So with that said I am staying in the house today by myself - and hoping my luck will change. :)

Luckily my card for our challenge at Fussy & Fancy Challenge blog was not one of the cards that was drowned in coffee. So I do have a card to share with you, but first let me tell you about our fun challenge for this week. The Fussy & Fancy Gals want to see Christmas Colors this week, now your project does not have to be Christmas related.at all. So use your creative minds and show us some of those beautiful colors that reminds us all of Christmas.

Our wonderful sponsor for this challenge is the fabulous Simon Says Stamps!!! So here is your chance to go browse this delightful store for some fabulous goodies. Did you know that they have over 100,000 items in stock, Simon is proud to offer the best selection of Rubber Stamps, Scrap booking, Artist Trading Cards, Altered Art, and Paper Crafting Supplies in the world. Now that is what I call "it's all about shopping"!

So what are your favorite Christmas Colors? Mine just happen to be .....

Yes the traditional Red and Green, nothing says Christmas to me like the mixture of beautiful reds and winter greens. Now I am a stickler about having more than one Christmas tree in my house, the more the merrier and the one tree that is decorated in Red and Green is the one in my dinning room which is done all in Santa Claus Ornaments. All the others have to match my decor in each room, (a bit strange here am I?) but since this is my most favorite holiday I make sure I spread the cheer throughout the house. I won't tell you just how weird I am when it comes to matching the decor, but I will tell you that I do get alot of harassment from my girls because my wrapping paper and bows must match the color scheme of the tree. Hee hee! Am I the only one who is this nerdy?

A little about my card, this is part of  a card kit that I sent recently to a group that I participate in, the theme was fall and since I had made a kit using the traditional oranges and browns, I kind of thought it would be fun to have one in another color combo so as I was looking through my Magnolia stamps, I was trying to think of some fall activities besides the leaves turning into their beautiful colors, all the craved pumpkins and Halloween, when I remember this is the time of year we go Apple picking for our annual applesauce and apple butter making.
Well since I don't have a Tilda with Apples I decided  my Peach Tilda worked pretty darn good for me not only for my card kit, but for our Red and Green challenge too.

The background designer paper is Basic Grey - Urban Prairie, the green is one I found in the clearance aisle at Michael's, Tilda is colored with Copics, I added Stardust stickles to her dress, white gel pen for the polka dots on her boots, Ruby Slippers stickles for the dots around the image, Prima flowers with Stardust stickles on the edges, leaves are also Prima, MS fence punch, PTI Poppy Red and Black card stock, Prima Say it in Pearls, Red Gingham Ribbon - Michael's.

You must stop over at Fussy & Fancy Challenge blog, the F&;F gals have some beautiful cards to inspire you, I do hope you join us this week, I would love to see your take on Christmas Colors.

Thanks for taking the time to visit me this morning, well I better go see what kind of trouble I can get into down in my craft area. Have a wonderful day and weekend.

Fussy and Fancy Challenge teams up with StampInsanity to Fight Breast Cancer

Happy Thursday blogger friends,

Today Fussy and Fancy is parntering up with Groovy Gurlz from StampInsanity Challenge for a very special cause. For this challenge we are starting our new challenge today instead of our normal Friday. StampInsanity, our sponsor this week, is releasing a new digi stamp set called Katie For a Cure. This set available exclusively at at StampInsanity store, costs $10 with proceeds benefiting the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

StampInsanity is generously donating a digi set of the winners choice. Here's a bit of info from Beth about why Katie For A Cure and the fight against breast cancer is important to her:
Katie for a Cure is a very special set I designed to honor my cousin Kate, who earlier this year, at age 33, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Kate is the picture of health and vitality, and her spirit is magical. She has two very young children, and is in the prime of her life – which makes her diagnosis all the more distressing. As only Katie can, she is fighting this disease with the strength and grace of a pure champion. Her story is sadly not unique, but this is my Katie, and I had to do something. It is tragic, but I am sure that my family is not the only one to have this disease repeatedly rearing its head at us. It is my hope that together we will raise a donation that we can all be proud of. And if nothing else, Kate will get a smile from all the beautiful cards that you share with us. Thank you all in advance for your donations and your creations!

Our Theme for Fussy and Fancy Challenge #16 is PINK and BLACK

Basic Grey Design Olivia collection, Prima Roses, May Arts ribbon, Charm from Hobby Lobby,Copics RV21,R20,W5,W7 BG10,E00,E02

Please join us in this fight against this awful beast and help make a difference for Kate. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among American women, except for skin cancers. The chance of developing invasive breast cancer at some time in a woman's life is a little less than 1 in 8 (12%). Run don't walk over to StampInsanity

As Beth mentioned above her family is not the only one to have this disease repeatedly rearing its head, This is a cause very dear to me, as I personally watch  my 31year old daughter fightt this deadly disease, She was one of those statistics of 1 in 8. We are so looking forward to Celebrating her 5 year cancer free mark this October.

Our Pink and Black challenge will begin today and run through Thursday August 12th, Please join us, as we would love to see your Pink and Black creations. Just link your post to Fussy and Fancy Challenge #16.

This card fits the following challenges
ABC Design Challenge - paper piecing

LOL!

The beautiful design paper is from Cloud9Designs Sparkle Climbing flowers and it's from last year, the HM stamp is HMKR 1032 "What is it", colored with Copics, the gorgeous ribbons are all from the ribbon outlet in WV that my dear friend Melissa took me to when I visited her.
