Gift bag for Christmas Goodies

Hi there, 

Popping in to share a gift bag I made that I could use to for Christmas cookie exchange or even to hold a small gift for a special friend. Stamp Fairy Stamps  is sponsoring ABC Christmas Challenge this week and the letter for the challenge is P for presents or a gift holder to hold a present.

Woohooo, I am on a roll 3rd Christmas card for this year !!

Hello, hope you are enjoying your Sunday afternoon

I am busy creating some dt cards and wanted to post my 3rd Christmas card so far for this year. I have been playing along at ABC Christmas Challenge and so far I have managed to create three cards following their challenge every two weeks.

This week's challenge is C and their theme is  Clean and Simple along with a great sketch to follow. Stamp Fairy is their sponsor this week, offering up a great prize to one lucky winner.

Using scrap paper and this wonderful sweet image  "I even Love the Box" from Mo Manning, I followed the sketch and realizing just how hard it is to keep a card clean and simple. I so wanted to keep adding to it, just finally stopped with just the gingham ribbon and bow (which I made using my Bow-Easy, I love this tool and would be so lost without LOL! ) So in order to add a little extra and still keep it C&S, I added Sparkly Fluff - Sugar from The Craft Lounge for the fur on his hat, Clear glitter gel pen for the bow, red glitter gel pen on tag and candy canes on wrapping paper, then added lots of Waterfall Stickles to the wrapping paper.  My SB scalloped circle is embossed with CB Swiss dots folder, Red paper is Bazzil pre embossed paper.

Red,Black and White Christmas

At first I wasn't sure exactly what I was going to do for my card this week. as the color theme stumped me. Then I saw that the the challenge over on the ABC Christmas Challenge was B - Black & White plus  use the provided image from their sponsor for this challenge Dustin Pike. Since I stated a week or so ago that one of my goals for this year was to make two Christmas Cards a month I then knew that I could accomplish my second card by combining the two challenges.

Here is my creation using this fun image of Dustin Pike and some odd and end papers I found among my stash, the small black panel is embossed with the CB swirl emboss folder, I used MS punches for the snowflake border and snowflakes which are covered in SU Ddazzling Ddiamonds, layered with two then topped with a Basic Grey black pearl, PTI stitched ribbon. Image is colored with Copic then I highlighted the Zebra with Sakura Gel pen, Penguin's scarf and hat with red glitter pen, sparkly fluffy for ball of hat, MS snow glitter for the ground, sentiment is a Hero Art stamp.  

First Black & White Christmas card for me and I think it is going to need to grow on me a bit more but hey 2 Christmas cards for 2011 completed so far.!!

My first Christmas Card for 2011

Now that sounds like a not so fun title after the rush I just went through getting everything on our my to do list done in time for the holidays. Yea no that did not happen!  One of my resolutions for 2011 is to be more organized and have a plan for the coming holidays so I can have my holiday cards out in the mail before the week of Christmas.... nothing like waiting until the very last minute to send a card when the postal service is at it's fullest!!

I discovered ABC Christmas Card Challenge from a friend during the scurry of December and thought now this would be a great way to have my cards done well in advance and be able to mail them the first of December so my family and friends can receive and display them during the holidays and before Christmas and not after LOL!! Yep only one card made it before Christmas - how sad it that?

I also have a basket and it a big one full of card kits that I received from some forum swaps I participated in and never found the extra time to play with as I always wanted to play with my current images. So one of my goals too is to play with these and create some wonderful cards, (each baggie holds everything I need except for the base to create a card) instead of them collecting dust like they have been.  

My game plan is to play in  the ABC Christmas Challenge which is every two week - that is two cards a month,  which will give me a good stash of Christmas cards done and ready to go.  I have marked a date on my calendar as well that twice a month I will use another non- holiday card kit and share with everyone - again using these great kits and building my stash for when my girls show up and need to replenish their card box that I gave them.

Then when I receive invites to join another card kit swap I won't feel so guilty due to the fact I have tons just sitting there not being used.

OK so enough of my blabbering here, let me show you my card for ABC Christmas first challenge - A is for Anything Christmas

Now some of the kits do not contain the company information regarding the stamp or the designer papers and embellishments. However I do know this image is a Gillian F Roberts stamp "Mistletoe and Mice" and you can find it available on the Stampavie store  . For the beautiful pattern paper I have no idea who it is by, the flowers and leaves  (Prima) are mine as are the little clear balls which I found in the wedding section at Hobby Lobby. Gingham ribbon is from my ribbon drawer, along with the Bazzil Bling papers and PTI Poppy Red card stock.

It was fun creating a Christmas card with no pressure, so I am hoping this will continue through out the year.
