Hello and welcome to Day 2 of our Pulmonary Awareness Blog Hop!!

Millions of people around the world have never even heard of PH...including hundreds of doctors.

This is why awareness for this horrible disease is so important! Pulmonary hypertension is high blood pressure in the lungs. It is a chronic and life-changing disease that can lead to right heart failure if left untreated. It takes too long for pulmonary hypertension to be diagnosed. The median survival rate without treatment is approximately 2.8 years, making the need to obtain a rapid and accurate diagnosis urgent. Unfortunately, the average duration from symptom onset to a confirmed diagnosis by right heart cauterization is also 2.8 years. We are reaching patients too late in the process. Early diagnosis is so important in saving the lives of PH patients, so we hope you will help us in spreading the word about pulmonary hypertension to others!
