PHight 4 A Cure with Pulmonary Hypertension Awareness

Hello and welcome to our Pulmonary Awareness Blog Hop!!

Is this the first time you have heard of pulmonary hypertension? If you said yes, then you're not alone. Millions of people around the world have never even heard of PH...including hundreds of doctors.

That is why awareness for this horrible disease is so important! Pulmonary hypertension is high blood pressure in the lungs. It is a chronic and life-changing disease that can lead to right heart failure if left untreated. It takes too long for pulmonary hypertension to be diagnosed. The median survival rate without treatment is approximately 2.8 years, making the need to obtain a rapid and accurate diagnosis urgent. Unfortunately, the average duration from symptom onset to a confirmed diagnosis by right heart cauterization is also 2.8 years. We are reaching patients too late in the process. Early diagnosis is so important in saving the lives of PH patients, so we hope you will help us in spreading the word about pulmonary hypertension to others!

I have lent my blog today to a sister crafter, BreAnn McFarland, a PH patient and  lung transplant recipient  who was diagnosed at the age of 14. 

So she may spread awareness among our friends and family on Pulmonary Hypertension

I remember when I was diagnosed, and no one had heard of PH, no support, no one to ask questions, no answers. Here we were told I had a fatal lung disease with no cure, and I needed to be listed for a heart/lung transplant right away if I wanted to see my 15th birthday!

BreAnn's wish to spread PH awareness is coming true today with the help of two fabulous artist Betty (Simply Betty Stamps) and Tamara (The Stamping Chef) who both created beautiful images for this special cause, and some very talented and crafty friends!!
