Life and Lemons = Margaritas

Good Morning and a Happy Monday!

I am still having a fabulous time in Chicago, and hoping the rain stays away so we can take in the Cubs game this evening. This is the one thing that Hunter insisted he wanted to do while we are here, so as long as I don't have to sit in the rain we will be catching a ball game tonight.

Today begins a new challenge over on the Critter Sketch challenge blog, This week we have a fabulous sketch for you to play with. Now the challenge is to use the sketch plus we want to see you use a minimum of 2 different ribbons.

This is my off week on the design team, but you know I can not resist a good sketch so I just had to play along.

As some of you may agree when Everyday Life and Lemons meet that it sometimes equals only one thing - Margaritas!!! LOL!! Beverage of my choice on those days when all is tart!

When I saw this sweet image released on Whimsie Doodles, I didn't hesitate to grab it up. It is such a fun image and I see me using it for many different occasions. I think it makes a great Pick Me Up card on those days that you find you're carrying the whole world on your shoulders. LOL! Ever have one of those days?

I used Basic Grey Nooks and Pantry paper collection,(isn't it just perfect with this image?), a little bit of Dazzling Diamonds and Stardust Stickles to give the lemons a bit of sparkle. Doodle Bug glittery candy dots. Those yummy ribbons are from a Taylor Expression's Key Ingredient Kit.

So I hope you hop on over to visit the Critter Sketch Challenge Blog and see all the fabulous creations the design team has to share with you today. I would love to see your creation with the sketch, just link your card to our challenge blog by Sunday August 8th.

Have a Fabulous Week and crafty day!!
Thanks for visiting my blog!

Hang in there! It's almost the Weekend

Hello and a happy Thursday!
How's your week going? It's almost Friday Whoo Hoo and the weekend is almost here. It's a busy one for us this weekend starting with our Grandson's graduation party then two ball games on Saturday and one on Sunday.
So on to my card I made with a Whimsie Doodles image that was recently released and I just got around to playing with.

I just love this designer paper from PTI so cheery and colorful. Red and Turquoise together is just gorgeous and really makes for a beautiful summer color card. My layout is a sketch from this week's challenge over at One Stop Crafts challenge blog #84. This was a great sketch to use with this adorable image. I colored the image with my Copic and the sentiment I cut from the bottom of the image and then matted with my PTI Pure Poppy and Hawaiin Shores, brads are from my stash. Crafty Ho's challenge this week wants to see bright colors and I do believe that my color combo here is bright.

OK now I need to head to the kitchen to start preparing all the food my daughter has assigned to me to make for the graduation party. I think my day will be spent in there since she has me cooking to feed about 50 + guest. Hmm? I wonder if my buckets of frozen Margarita's will be ready by noon to start taste tasting?

Have a wonderful day and thank you for droppin in.

Hugs

Buttons and Buttons

Good Morning - Three more days till the big guy in red visits...LOL! Are you counting down the days? I know my grandson's are, each morning I am reminded just how many more days there are till Santa comes!

I have another Christmas card to share with you today, this cute gingerbread image is from Whimsie Doodle and I paired her up with PTI Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz layered on New Leaf along with some DCWV Christmas paper from last year's stack. I love the look of green and pink combo and this DP paper (can't believe I hadn't used it) was perfect and matches so well with the PTI colors.

I used this week's sketch over on Friday Sketchers #83. She is colored with Copic, and the buttons are from PTI. The sentiment is SU Warm words and the border punch is MS. Her wings are so glittery thanks to a little bit of SU Dazzling Diamonds.

I hope you have a very blessed day, thanks for stopping by

Holiday Gingers

Hello, are you getting ready for the weekend? I know ours here is suppose to be really cold! Oh I am so not ready for it, having temps in the 50's & 60's has spoiled me a bit! My plans for the weekend include a fun filled evening with 4 of the 6 grandsons as we all build Gingerbread Houses. This is a first for us as a family evening and it looks to be loads of fun, we shall see just how much candy gets eaten before it finds its way on the houses. I will share pictures of the event for sure.

Today my card I am sharing is for the weekly challenge on Sweet Sketch Wednesday
They have two great sketches this week and after much going back and forth I decided to follow the second one called a double take

I used Whimsie Doodle Holiday Gingers for my image (thoughts of Gingerbread Houses)colored with copics and some glittler to their hats. My DP is from Chatterbox - Holiday Sprinkles, then layered with Su black and a green scrap I had in my basket. The seintment is from Inktegrity's new release Sundae Best, button from PTI and the ribbon is from the VW Ribbon Outlet, to finish the card I added some olive brads in each corner.

Thanks for stopping by,

Here is the inside -

Colored in copics, cs - PTI, DP is from Michaels
