Hello friends and all you Kentucky NASCAR Fans

Wasn't able to make it down to the big race today with the big dogs burning their tires as they ride the first of many (we hope)  NASCAR race here is Sparta KY.

But I have been playing in my craft room getting a bit inky and glittery this afternoon as I listen to some good music and thinking it's way too hot to be outside. (Okay, truth be told I would of sucked it up had I been able to be at the races).

I am so excited to share this card with you as I am really cutting it close with getting it in the challenge that Mo from Mo's Digital Pencil is holding on her Facebook page.

Over the 4th of July weekend she offered up an adorable freebie on her Facebook page

Paperdoll Trudy

She is just adorable and although I didn't make a paper doll this time I do plan on making one as your never too old for a paper doll especially one as cute as Trudy!!!

She is just too cute for words, I paper pieced part of her dress with some scrap pink polka dot paper I had then colored her sash and the trim of her skirt with Copic E25 then added some Cinnamon Stickles, as well as her shoes.  Using pop dots I popped her on top of my center circle in which I used these beautiful papers from Basic Grey Sweet Threads. Her little gift bag has some Yellow, Waterfall and my all time favorite Star Dust Stickles. Add some Star Dust stickles to the white polka dots on her dress, and socks. Pink Stickles to her hair bows. For my sentiment I used a Whimsy Stamps mini letter seal stamp by Raindrop Echo which ink with SU Chocolate Chip and then colored the cupcakes with Copics and topped with Star Dust Stickles. Flowers are all by Prima and again sprinkled with Star Dust Stickles ( can you tell this is a must have for me).

Okay now off to get ready to sit in the A/C cheering on my boy #8

Woohooo, I am on a roll 3rd Christmas card for this year !!

I am busy creating some dt cards and wanted to post my 3rd Christmas card so far for this year. I have been playing along at ABC Christmas Challenge and so far I have managed to create three cards following their challenge every two weeks.

This week's challenge is C and their theme is  Clean and Simple along with a great sketch to follow. Stamp Fairy is their sponsor this week, offering up a great prize to one lucky winner.

Using scrap paper and this wonderful sweet image  "I even Love the Box" from Mo Manning, I followed the sketch and realizing just how hard it is to keep a card clean and simple. I so wanted to keep adding to it, just finally stopped with just the gingham ribbon and bow (which I made using my Bow-Easy, I love this tool and would be so lost without LOL! ) So in order to add a little extra and still keep it C&S, I added Sparkly Fluff - Sugar from The Craft Lounge for the fur on his hat, Clear glitter gel pen for the bow, red glitter gel pen on tag and candy canes on wrapping paper, then added lots of Waterfall Stickles to the wrapping paper.  My SB scalloped circle is embossed with CB Swiss dots folder, Red paper is Bazzil pre embossed paper.

Trick or Treat, with Going Grey with Scrap-Creations #25

Good morning to you on this last day of August,

Do you have plans for the Labor Day weekend? We have reservations at a local campsite but the weather may not cooperate with us as I seen this morning that they are stating thunderstorms for Friday and cooler weather for the rest of the weekend. Not sure I want to pitch a tent in the rain! So we will have to see how it is, since sometimes our weather guys don't always make the right call LOL!

Since Labor day is the official end to summer and we all begin to get ready for the coming holidays,yes they will be here before we know it, Going Grey with Scrap-Creations challenge for this week takes us right into our next holiday with  celebrating HALLOWEEN. Are you ready for those ghost and goblins?

Well, the design team at Going Grey with Scrap-Creations would love to see those cards or projects with a Halloween theme, so dig out your Halloween stamps or digis and join us this week.

I used a Mo's Digital Pencil Too image  Trick or Treat for my card today, the fun design paper is the newest Cosmo Cricket Mini Deck Matilda - oh, this pack has the cutest designs for Halloween.

I combined challenges this week by using this fun sketch over on Sketch Saturday Challenge. I used PTI Terracotta and Black as my base and matting, my brand  new MS drippy goo punch and PTI Black ribbon. coloring was done using Copics.

Reece's first Halloween

Good Monday morning!!

It's a fresh week and it's back to school week for Hunter, so we have lots to do in the next day with orientation this evening and then a full day of Welcome to School activity tomorrow in preparation for the official First day of school on Wednesday. I think he might be as excited as I am to see school back in session LOL!!

Well since it's the beginning of a fresh week, that means that the Critter Sketch Challenge has a new challenge for us to play along with. Yeah!!!  No sketch this week but they do have a fun and challenging recipe for you. The challenge for this week is to create a man or boy card or scrapbook page.  Pretty Easy??? Oh wait there is a twist, Melanie wants to see you  use some glitter. Tricky, tricky!!!!! 

Since it is my off week on the design team, I still always want to play along  As you all know I love my challenges and this one stumped me at first, but then I remembered I was wanting to make all the grandson's a card for Halloween to send with their little treats. Since my  little one, Reece will be celebrating his first Halloween, I knew this image from Mo's Digital Pencil Too was perfect. Not too scary but just the right touch for an adorable Halloween card. I created this card for the challenge.

I used this week's  fabulous sketch from Friday Sketchers #115 for my layout, then found I still had some older SU Halloween design paper in my paper tray that would be perfect for a non-scary card, using PTI Orange Zest and Simply Chartreuse for my base and matting I began creating. Can you see I did get the twist in my card as I added my glitter, SU Dazzling Diamonds to the pumpkin and cross bones, plus a little here and there on the parrot.

I even finished the inside as this is something I don't always do right away. Adding a cute pre-school hand poem and some little embellishments from a Dress it Up pack.

One done, now five more to go but since these are for the older boys I can get a bit more Halloween-ish with them. LOL!!

Coffee, Laptop and Catching up

A second post for the day, but I just had to share with you this card I made from a image that Mo from Digital Pencil Too, was offering as a freebie on facebook. If you weren't able to pick it up while she was offering it on facebook you can now get it through the store.

Oh, this is so me each morning, coffee and laptop checking blogger's daily readings before I do anything else. although I wish I looked that well put together in the mornings. ha!

For my card I followed a couple of challenges, the layout is Sketch and Stash challenge #35, new image, new Basic Grey paper, buttons and ribbon from my stash. I followed the color challenge over at The Pink Elephant - yellow, DP and buttons.

My card base is SU Barely Banana, matted image with PTI Aqua Mist and Summer Sunrise, DP is BG Kioshi paper (2), SU Taffeta ribbon Bashful Blue, with BG buttons

Valentines and Challenges

Good morning and a Happy Thursday, Today's card is all about challenges. I started out using Friday Sketchers sketch and a image from Mo's Digital Pencil too Shy Valentines James and found after finishing the card I met a few more challenges. I have listed them below.



This little card is one for my eleven year old grandson. I am giving each one of them a handmade card and some goodies for Valentines. They love it when they get happy mail too, so even though they all are within 3 miles from me they each will be getting some goodies in the mail from their mama.


Boy do you see that shadow? That is the shadow of the groundhog (LOL!)another six weeks of winter - phew! Not what I want to hear, as not only do I not like the cold but I am having a heck of a time getting clear pictures without the sun. Seems my house is not light enough for a clear crisp picture of my cards.

Digital Images are so fun

Good Morning, The weekend is flying by, I can't believe it's already Sunday. This week over at Corrosive Challenge we their challenge is to use a Digital stamp. There are so many wonderful stamp company's that are offering so many cute images. They are so fun to use and so versatile too.

For my card I used Mo's Digital Pencil 2 image of Bronte and Louis.This will make a cute birthday card for a little boy.

Too Cute!

Beautiful morning to you, TGIF is about all I can think this fine morning. It's been one crazy week and so looking forward to some me time this weekend. Between the snow, school closings, driving in the wintery weather stuff, work and just not enough time for all that needs to be done I am so ready. OK enough with complaining as I have something to share that is sure to bring a smile, along with the thoughts about warm sunshine. This image did just that while I was coloring it up. Isn't this just the cutest image? This is Bye Bye you can find him at Mo's Digital Pencil. While coloring this little guy, I found myself smiling and reminiscing back when my oldest grandson would ride his tricycles with his little backpack overflowing with all his favorite toys. Zac my oldest (wow how fast they grow up! He is 18 yrs) actually had a backpack that was identical to this one, oh such sweet memories.... I hunted until I found a picture of him riding his bike with his backpack on. So I had to colored this backpack to match the one he was wearing.

A Special day for me!

Hello friends, happy Monday to you! Well I am at the hospital awaiting the birth of our new grandchild. The little turkey has been a bit stubborn and would not cooperate with turning to the proper position so they have scheduled a C-Section for this morning.

Of course part of the suspense is my son and his wife choose not to know the sex of the baby as they wanted to be surprised. So the suspense is double for me as not knowing is driving me crazy. We have 5 grandsons between the girls and the chance that we could have a baby girl is very exciting. Oh my what trouble I could get ito with a baby girl to shop for. LOL! Boy or Girl this grandma will enjoy spoiling with lots of love.

So to fit in with the scheme of a baby, my card today is Kai in the snow! When I first saw this image I just had to have him, he brought some great memories back of my grandson Nicholas when he was little and his first time in the snow. Of course I colored him as a little boy (jeez just comes natural to go to the blues), but I could have alot of fun using pink with this image. He is just adorable and is having a good time playing with the snow (MS Coarse glitter). His ball on his cap and strings were flocked with white and then I punched out some snowflakes (MS punch) from scraps of Bazzill Shimmer paper




I used copics to color the image and then found some S.E.I. paper from last year's stash Winter Glitter land. The beautiful sliver ribbon is from my stash that I picked up when I visited Melissa in WV and she so kindly feed my addiction to ribbon by taking me to a ribbon outlet(wonderful place, so sad it is a 9 hour drive away), I added MS mica flakes glitter to the snow he was tossing in the air, along with some MS crystal glitter to make it shimmer a bit more. Then added the sentiment "Let it Snow" from the SU Cold Play set, and a few rhinestones for some more bling.

I hope you enjoy as much as I did making this card, I will be back later with some news on the arrival and a few pictures of our blessed baby.
